Step 2
Complete your background check through IdentoGO
All real estate applicants in Oklahoma must undergo a fingerprint-based background check. You must schedule your live-scan appointment online through IdentoGO using the service code 2B7NR3.
The background check requires a $60 processing fee, payable directly to IdentoGO. Once your fingerprints are captured, they’ll be processed by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI). Results are typically reported to OREC within 2-3 business days. After receiving both your online application and background check, OREC will review your file, often within five business days.
Step 3
Submit your application and proof of citizenship
Once you have finished your pre-licensing education, apply for your provisional sales associate license online through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission portal.
During this step, you are required to pay a $35 application fee directly to OREC. Additionally, you must provide valid proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency. Most applicants satisfy this requirement by submitting a copy of a U.S. birth certificate or a valid U.S. Passport. Please note that a driver’s license is not considered an accepted form of proof.
Step 4
Pass the Oklahoma real estate exam
Once your application is approved, keep an eye on your inbox. You should receive an email from Pearson VUE, the state’s examination vendor, within about 48 hours. This email will contain your candidate ID and instructions to schedule your exam. You have one year from the date your application is submitted to pass the exam.
The provisional sales associate exam fee is $75 per attempt.
