How to renew your real estate license in Wyoming
Wyoming real estate licenses renew every three years through the Wyoming Real Estate Commission (WREC). Salespersons, Associate Brokers, Responsible Brokers, and Real Estate Companies must complete continuing education requirements, submit a renewal application, and pay renewal fees before December 31 of their renewal year to maintain active status and avoid penalties.
Wyoming real estate license renewal steps
Wyoming real estate licenses renew every three years, with a renewal deadline of December 31 of the renewal year. Courtesy renewal reminders may be sent, but licensees are responsible for renewing on time even if a reminder is not received.
Newly issued active license renewal rule: Newly issued active licenses must renew by December 31 of the year they were issued, but are not required to complete continuing education for that initial renewal. That first renewal begins the standard three-year renewal cycle.
Step 1
Complete your continuing education requirements
Before renewing your license, complete all required continuing education.
Wyoming Salesperson and Associate Broker continuing education requirements: 45 hours
Currently, the required continuing education for Salespersons and Associate Brokers covers:
- Annual Core coursework
- Agency law
- Fair housing
- Ethics
- Contracts
- Trust accounting
- Licensing law
Wyoming Responsible Broker continuing education requirements: 53 hours
Currently, Responsible Broker education focuses on supervision responsibilities, broker management, compliance oversight, and trust account administration.
Important continuing education reminders:
- Wyoming requires 3 hours of Annual Core education each year during the renewal cycle
- Continuing education must be completed during the current three-year renewal cycle
- Continuing education providers must report course completion records to WREC within 10 calendar days
- Online, livestream, and classroom continuing education formats are allowed
- Duplicate required courses may not count during the same renewal cycle
- Licensees performing property management services must complete 3 hours of approved property management coursework during each renewal cycle
Pro Tip: Complete continuing education early in the renewal cycle — the 3-hour Annual Core requirement must be completed each year, not all at once near renewal.
Step 2
Submit your renewal application through the WREC portal
Wyoming real estate licenses renew online through the Wyoming Real Estate Commission licensing portal.
Before renewing, licensees should verify:
- Continuing education requirements are completed
- Contact information is current
- License type is correct
- All required documents are available
Licensees should use a permanent email address for their WREC account username.
Step 3
Pay your renewal fee and confirm your license status
Current Wyoming renewal fees include:
- Salesperson renewal fee: $350
- Associate Broker renewal fee: $350
- Responsible Broker renewal fee: $350
- Inactive license renewal fee: $370
Licensees renewing after December 31 may be charged additional processing fees during the January 1–March 1 late renewal period. Licenses not renewed by March 1 are canceled and require reapplication and satisfaction of current licensing requirements.
After submitting renewal:
- Save your renewal confirmation
- Verify your updated license status online
- Confirm your next expiration date
