How to renew your real estate license in Nevada
Nevada real estate licenses must be renewed every two years through the Nevada Real Estate Division (NRED). To renew an active Nevada real estate salesperson, broker-salesperson, or broker license, licensees must complete continuing education requirements, submit a renewal application online or by mail, and pay the required renewal fee before the license expiration date.
Nevada real estate license renewal steps
Nevada real estate licenses must be renewed every two years from the date of issuance or last renewal. Renewals may be submitted beginning 45 days before expiration.
Step 1
Complete your continuing education requirements
Before renewing your license, complete all required continuing education.
Nevada salesperson continuing education requirements: 36 hours
At least 18 of the required hours must be completed through live instruction (in person or livestream).
Nevada broker and broker-salesperson continuing education requirements: 36 hours
At least 18 of the required hours must be completed through live instruction (in person or livestream).
New licensee first renewal requirements
Nevada first-time licensees generally must complete Nevada post-licensing education instead of standard continuing education during their initial renewal cycle.
Certain first-time Nevada licensees who previously held qualifying real estate licensure in another jurisdiction may be exempt from post-licensing education and instead complete the standard continuing education requirement during their first renewal cycle.
Continuing education reminders:
- Continuing education must be completed before renewing an active license
- Continuing education certificates must be submitted to the Division
- Continuing education providers must be approved by the Nevada Real Estate Division
- Online continuing education is permitted in Nevada
- At least half of required hours must be live instruction (in person or livestream)
Pro Tip: Complete continuing education several weeks before expiration to avoid renewal delays and document issues.
Step 2
Access the Nevada Real Estate Division online portal
Nevada real estate licenses may be renewed online through the NRED licensing portal.
To renew online:
- Log into the licensing portal
- Review your expiration date and current license status
- Verify your continuing education completion
- Complete the renewal application
You cannot renew online if:
- Your license has already expired
- You are changing from inactive to active status
Licensees may also need to provide:
- Continuing education certificates
- Business license information
- Child support compliance information
- Criminal history disclosures if applicable
Step 3
Submit your renewal application and pay your renewal fee
Current Nevada renewal fees include:
- Salesperson renewal fee: $195
- Broker or broker-salesperson renewal fee: $235
Late renewal fees include:
- Salesperson late fee: $75
- Broker or broker-salesperson late fee: $95
After submitting renewal:
- Save your payment confirmation
- Verify your updated expiration date in the online portal
- Download or print updated license information for your records
Most online renewals process within 24–48 hours.

What happens if your Nevada real estate license expires?
Nevada licensees who fail to renew before expiration enter expired status and may not legally practice real estate until renewal or reactivation is completed.
Expired licenses less than one year
Nevada licenses expired less than one year may generally still be renewed by:
- Submitting a renewal application (by mail or in person — online renewal is not available after expiration)
- Paying renewal and late fees
- Completing all continuing education requirements
Late renewal licensees seeking active status must also submit Form 544 for reactivation.
Expired licenses more than one year
Nevada licenses expired more than one year generally require reapplication for licensure, additional education, and possible retesting or examination requirements.
Inactive license renewals
Nevada inactive licenses do not require continuing education to renew inactive status, but still require renewal before expiration and require continuing education before reactivation to active status.
