How to renew your real estate license in Indiana
Indiana real estate licenses must be renewed every three years through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA). To renew an active license, real estate brokers and managing brokers must complete required continuing education, submit a renewal application through MyLicense One, and pay the required renewal fee before the expiration date.
Indiana real estate license renewal steps
Indiana real estate licenses renew every three years. Brokers must complete annual continuing education requirements during each CE year from July 1 through the next June 30.
Step 1
Complete your continuing education requirements
Before renewing your license, complete all required continuing education.
Post-licensing education requirements: 30 hours
Post-licensing courses must be completed within the first two years after licensure. Post-licensing education may satisfy continuing education requirements for two CE years.
Indiana broker continuing education requirements: 36 hours
The Indiana license renewal process occurs every three years, but continuing education is required annually.
Managing broker continuing education requirements: 36 hours
The Indiana license renewal process occurs every three years, but continuing education is required annually.
For the current CE cycle, managing brokers must complete at least four hours focused on managing broker topics, including business management and legal knowledge.
Important continuing education reminders:
- Licensees may not receive credit for taking the same course twice during the same CE year
- Continuing education certificates should be retained for audit purposes
Indiana conducts random audits after renewal periods. Licensees selected for audit will be notified to submit continuing education certificates.
Pro Tip: Complete your continuing education early each year to avoid compliance issues and last-minute scheduling problems.
Step 2
Access MyLicense One and prepare your renewal
Indiana real estate license renewals are completed online through MyLicense One.

License renewal notices are sent approximately 90 days before expiration.
Licensees with valid email addresses on file receive electronic renewal notices. Others receive mailed renewal notices.
Step 3
Submit your renewal application and pay your renewal fee
Current Indiana real estate renewal fees include:
- Broker renewal fee: $60
After submitting payment:
- Save your renewal confirmation
- Verify your updated license status in MyLicense One

Do not renew your license until all continuing education requirements have been completed.
