Once pre-registered with the Commission you will be assigned a unique ID number which will be required to schedule your state exam.
Students must register online with the Commission at arec.alabama.gov prior to completing the salesperson pre-license course in order to take the license examination.
It varies per person on how long it takes to get an Alabama real estate license depending on the pace at which you complete the 60 hours of pre-licensing courses and pass your licensing examination, the time it takes you to complete the application process, and post-license course and application processing times.
To obtain a real estate license in Alabama, you must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or legally present in the U.S., with a minimum age of 19. Additionally, you must demonstrate bona fide residency in any U.S. state, provide proof of high school graduation or its equivalent, and have a clean record free of felony convictions or crimes involving moral turpitude. Moreover, applicants must not have had a real estate application or license rejected or revoked in any state within the past two years. The process involves completing a 60-hour Alabama real estate pre-license course, passing the real estate licensing examination with a score of 70% or higher, submitting an application for an Alabama Temporary Salesperson’s license, completing a mandatory 30-hour post-license course upon receiving the temporary license, and finally, submitting an application for an Alabama Permanent Salesperson’s License.
