What is the difference between a salesperson and a broker?

Generally, a salesperson works for a broker. A broker can work for another broker or have their own office with salespersons under them; however the term varies by state. In some states, there are no salespersons; there are only brokers (similar to salespersons), and managing brokers. Visit your state license requirements for specifics by choosing your state from the Get Licensed tab then clicking the License Requirements button.
