FAQs: Pre-Licensing and Continuing Education Questions

Find answers to your questions about Colibri Real Estate.

Can I get a real estate license if I have a conviction or criminal act on my record?

This is a question you will have to submit to the state licensing authority or Real Estate Commission for your particular state. Each state’s law varies regarding what types of criminal activity prohibits you from obtaining a real estate license. Some have exceptions regarding the type of crime, the age you were when the crime was committed or even the length of time that has passed since the crime was committed. In most states, if you have a felony conviction or have pled no contest to a felony – you probably cannot obtain a real estate license.
