Utah Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements

1. General Utah Salesperson License Requirements

The general requirements for real estate salespersons defined by the Utah Department of Commerce Division are as follows:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Meet the statutory licensing qualifications of honesty, integrity, truthfulness, reputation, and competency.

2. Salesperson License Education Requirements in Utah

Below are credit hours required for the Utah pre-license course to qualify for your salesperson license.

3. Additional Salesperson License Requirements in Utah

If you meet the general requirements and have completed your required course credit hours, you will need to complete the following steps to get your Salesperson license:

  • Apply for the Utah Salesperson examination
  • Submit fingerprints for a criminal background check
  • Successfully pass the Utah Salesperson licensing exam with a score of 70% or higher
  • Obtain sponsorship from a licensed Utah broker
  • Complete the Utah Real Estate License application

Regulatory Notes: 

Applicants may only take up to 8 hours of CE online per day.  

Utah’s division of real estate requires a timing mechanism for all distance education courses to ensure courses cannot be completed in less time than the approved credit hours. Please note that your course will time out after 10 minutes of inactivity!
