This three-hour course provides focuses on topics related to your practice of real estate. We’ll begin in Chapter 1 with a discussion on advertising and a licensee’s obligation to be truthful in all communications. This goes beyond merely adhering to the laws and regulations, although we will certainly discuss various laws and visit the Truth in Advertising provisions in the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. In Chapter 2, we’ll review what can happen when a party to a sales agreement defaults on their contractual obligations, specifically, we’ll review the parties’ options and a licensee’s requirement to protect a buyer’s earnest money and disburse it properly. In Chapter 3, we’ll review the Wisconsin Real Estate Examining Board’s authority to impose administrative discipline against licensees for violations and look at some recent disciplinary actions.
