Tennessee Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements

1. General Tennessee Salesperson License Requirements

The general requirements for real estate salespersons defined by the Tennessee Real Estate Commission are as follows:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a high school diploma or GED

2. Salesperson License Education Requirements in Tennessee

Below are credit hours required for the Tennessee pre-license course to qualify for your salesperson license.

3. Additional Salesperson License Requirements in Tennessee

If you meet the general requirements and have completed your required course credit hours, you will need to complete the following steps to get your Salesperson license:

  • Apply for the Tennessee Salesperson examination
  • Submit fingerprints for a criminal background check
  • Successfully pass the Tennessee Salesperson licensing exam with a score of 70% or higher
  • Obtain sponsorship from a licensed Tennessee broker
  • Complete the Tennessee Real Estate License application

Regulatory Notes:

Obtaining Certificate of Course Completion: Upon completion of the course, Colibri Real Estate will provide you an electronic certificate of completion in your account dashboard. You will need to submit your certificate of completion with your license application. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time, therefore that will be the time reflected on your certificate. Proof that the 120-hour Tennessee Prelicense Course has been completed will be forwarded by the school to PSI, the exam administrator.
